• MTC is returning to face-to-face classes – 20th November 2021

  • Very recently COVID-19 Vaccination regulations have been changed by the the Victorian State Government, especially regarding the attendance of students aged 12 to 15. The new regulations require attendees aged 12+ to be fully vaccinated (previously it was for attendees aged 16+).

    The below advice has been updated to reflect this change:

    MTC is returning to face-to-face classes! Beginning on Saturday 20th November 2021.

    We will be running outdoor classes at Halliday Park, 308-332 Mitcham Road, Mitcham. This is part of our “Safety First” reopening strategy which will see us back to indoor classes early next year.

    We will also be running online Zoom classes Mondays to Thursdays until 16th December 2021 (Saturday Zoom classes will not run from Saturday 20th November 2021 onward as these have been replaced by in the Park sessions).

    COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements

    • In line with government rules and guidelines, to participate in face-to-face classes;
    • All members aged 12+ must be fully vaccinated.
    • For those aged under 12, vaccination is not required at this stage.
    • All members are reminded that members and guests over the age of 12 must be double vaccinated.
    • Please also make sure you have evidence of vaccination when you arrive.
    • Proof of vaccination must be provided. Preferably on enrolment prior to class, but on arrival is also accepted.
    • Students under the age of 12 do not need to be vaccinated, but they must be accompanied by an adult that is fully vaccinated.
    • Students under the age of 12 cannot attend without a fully vaccinated adult. (Students under 12 cannot participate unless this condition is met).

    COVID-19 Safety

    We will have a COVID Safety Marshal on site to ensure infection prevention controls are followed; (Sanitation, Social distancing, Mask wearing, Group training bubbles, QR code check-in and Vaccination status checking). Please make sure you have evidence of vaccination for when you arrive and provide this to the Safety Marshal.

    • All attendees must check in with QR code on arrival. Alternative book-in is available if you don’t have a phone.
    • We may be checking your temperature on arrival.
    • Outdoors, masks are not mandatory, but are still recommended.
    • Indoors, masks for anyone over the age of 12 is mandatory (excluding any medical or physical exertion qualified exemptions).
    • We also recommend anyone under the age of 12 also wear masks.

    If you are unable to provide full vaccination evidence, you will not be allowed to attend classes.

    Musketeers
    40 minutes double class (all belt levels)
    9.10am – 9.50am

    Junior / Senior Beginners and Yellow Belts
    60 minutes double class
    10.00am – 11.00 am

    Junior / Senior Blue Belts
    60 minutes double class
    11.10am – 12.10am

    Junior / Senior Special class – all Red belts and Black belts
    12.30pm – 3.30pm One class

    BYO

    • Water bottle
    • Snacks
    • Mask
    • Yoga mat or towel to sit on
    • Sunscreen
    • Hat
    • Hay fever protection (if needed)
    • Clean and tidy uniform
    • Wear training shoes or runners
    • Wooden / plastic weapons if needed

    Taekwondo Grading – All belt levels (including Black belts)
    The end of year Taekwondo grading will be held on Saturday 11th December 2021 in Halliday Park. The grading timetable will be the same as for the Saturday classes above.
    In case of inclement weather, the grading will be rescheduled to Saturday 18th December 2021.

    Boxing Grading – All belt levels
    The end of year Boxing grading will be held on Saturday 11th December 2021 in Halliday Park from 3.45 pm to 5.00pm.
    In case of inclement weather, the grading will be rescheduled to Saturday 18th December 2021.

    Cho Dan Bo / Black Belt Grading Candidates
    Those students who have been invited to grade for Cho Dan Bo, Black belt 1st Dan/Poom or above (or believe you are eligible) need to attend all classes from 10.00 am – 3.30pm (please bring your bo staff / sword / solo baston / knife).
    You are also required to fill out the grading application form and meet all the obligations needed for this assessment (including writing an essay for Black 1st Dan/Poom and above).
